The latest release from Place North West highlights eight new schemes that have been granted planning approval.  The vast majority of these are for large residential, high rise schemes.  

Individually the schemes would be note worthy, the fact that so many are being brought to the market shows the real need for additional housing.  It also shows the desire for high quality accommodation.  

The hope is that the schemes do stand the test of time; it is important that we learn from our own past.  I am sure we all remember the last boom in high rise apartments.  How many of those are still standing 50 years on?
