The Northern transport body is week away from delivering a report on how to progress major rail improvements, including HS3 and Northern Powerhouse rail. It will also cover issues such as the TransPennine tunnel.
The goal is to present a consolidated 'one north' view, a plan made in the north focusing on local / regional requirements. Not every project proposed would go ahead as sufficient funds are not available.
How the plans will be prioritised and how much public capital will be provided is still to be confirmed.
